Bonus or Employee Compensation ?

Regardless of the excess, one of the problems is terminology.
Most people associate bonuses with profit or earnings.
AIG was unofficially bankrupt and the money used was taxpayer dollars not profit.

Rewarding someone for bankrupting a company goes against common sense.
Call it by another name and the emotional link would be weaker.

Some of the people received bonuses of one-million dollars.
This would take one taxpayer, paying $7000 per year, almost 143 years to recover,
(not adjusting for inflation).

All these numbers are so out of ordinary context!
Has McDonald's served this many hamburgers yet???

I agree they should be paid per their contracts. I guess I am trying to force someone to do the honorable thing, if it's forced then is it honorable?

There shouldn't be a next time for the give-a-ways.

I thought the second part of the bail-out, (after Obama took office), included no bonuses if they took the money...maybe I'm wrong on that part. They are still receiving money . . .

As far as the government changing contracts it happens all the time. Contracts change in the private sector especially with sports players.

The government has also changed the meaning of "Eminent Domain" so Walmart, etc can take your property for their super centers. The increased tax revenue is to the benefit of the public, homeowner has no rights against the state in this matter. Whatever happened to the old west when you could shoot a person for treaspassing??? Okay I don't want to go that far, but I should have the right of refusal.

Let me get straight to the point!

The execs produced a near miracle getting billions from the taxpayers!

Yes, Yes they did !!!

Here is a company that was down and out, they got billions infused and the execs should get their reward as promised on their contracts for pulling it together.

That's the law so give it to them.

Now if they decide not to take it that is their option as well.

So here's what we can do...

Have the IRS pull all their records for every year and do complete audits on each one.

Have the justice department go over the business contracts to make sure they are legal.

Open their bank records from US and international banks including Switzerland.

If there is one receipt not found or any question about any thing,

freeze their ass...ets, take their passports and wait . . .

That should do it!
