Another view on Haiti
To my friends,
I just wanted to toss out another view of the tragedy in Haiti.
Sometimes when disaster strikes people view it as, "What have they done to deserve punishment," or "it is Gods judgment for their sins," etc. Views like this are all over the web so here is my thought...
I believe it is God saying to the whole world, "Look at your selfishness!" The disaster and deaths condemn the wealthy, including us, for the lack of compassion and care we give to the poor.
People tend to point a finger at others and see things as their fault, what have they done to deserve the rebuke? (I love this part), but when one points a finger at others; they are pointing three back at self ! ! ! (Told you I love this part).
So I try to see what I am doing, not doing, thinking wrong, etc...what is the lesson I could learn from the events.
Another view to generate thoughts....

Haiti Message to White House
Re: Haiti and Unemployed Americans:
Just wondering if we could use the Government Stimulus to take unemployed Americans to Haiti to rebuild the country?
We have the knowledge, engineers, construction workers, etc that could go there and build basic services: roads, sewers, water treatment, hospitals, schools, multi-use buildings that are hurricane and earthquake resistant.
Let the NGO’s, Habitat for Humanity, mission groups, etc rebuild homes, churches, shops, etc.
The idea would be to keep everything simple and plain. Build the road with sewer lines, underground electrical, and water along the road. Build hospitals and multi-purpose buildings to server as many as possible after the priority of rescue and recovery.
Unemployed American’s working for a fair wage, non-taxable in a non-profit setting. Make 2010 the year of “Do,” “There is no do not!”
They need help and we need work a win – win situation to help rebuild a country!
Thank you for listening and I hope you can find a way to take this forward in some form.
Sincerely,
